After quite a bit of tinkering, this personal blog based on Hugo + Stack theme is finally live.
Why Hugo
There are plenty of static site generators out there: Hugo, Hexo, Jekyll, Gatsby, and more. I ended up choosing Hugo for simple reasons:
- Blazing fast: Written in Go, it can generate thousands of pages per second. The build is practically instant.
- Single binary: Just one executable file, zero deployment dependencies.
- Rich theme ecosystem: Excellent themes like Stack and PaperMod make blogs both beautiful and practical.
Why the Stack Theme
Stack is a card-style Hugo theme with a very restrained design:
- Card-style article list on the homepage, with just the right information density
- Built-in dark/light mode toggle
- Supports search, archives, and tag clouds—full-featured without bloat
- Chinese typography friendly, with solid CJK language support
What This Blog Will Cover
There’s no fixed update schedule here, and no pursuit of traffic. I’ll probably write about:
- Technical learning notes and troubleshooting records
- Thoughts on tools, productivity, and workflows
- Occasional life essays and reading reflections
Writing for myself, and for you who happened to stop by.
If you’re also interested in setting up a blog, feel free to reach out. The joy of technology often lies in the tinkering itself.
